Twitter and Xcorp

Elon Musk doesn't need an introduction to anyone on the internet in today's date because he is one of the most famous and influential men on this planet. Neither do we need to tell you about Twitter. But now, let's come to our topic of Elon Musk buying Twitter and his future motives.

Let's dive deep into it,

Elon's work on Twitter:

Immediately after Elon Musk bought Twitter, he brought Twitter under Xcorp. Xcorp currently owns Twitter but can come up with different other offerings in future. That's Elon Musk's plan to make an "Everything app". Musk is planning to make Twitter a smart app. Smart apps are apps that have several features in it. No clarity about other components, but the payment option is going to be added on Twitter very soon.

The main motive of Elon Musk behind buying Twitter has always been to promote free speech on the platform, according to him. He also reinstated the Twitter account of Donald Trump to prove his standing on the ground of "free speech".

Elon Musk has also made the verification badge paid, so now you will have to pay for the blue tick. But there will be some extra benefits for witter blue users - edit a tweet, post longer videos, customise the app icon and put an NFT as your profile picture. Other than that, users paying for Twitter Blue will also help them to make Twitter profitable.

Future plans of Elon Musk with Twitter:

He has come up with different plans regarding Twitter. He also revealed some of his new plans to make Twitter a better app -

i. Advertising as entertainment – with this, he wants to make the advertisements that run on Twitter more entertaining for the users.

ii. Video - there are chances that videos will be made more common on Twitter. According to one of his polls, he might also bring back the short-form video app - Vine.

iii. Encrypted DMs - This is an old feature of WhatsApp and now slowly becoming common in every app. With Encrypted DMs, your privacy will get more value in any social media app.

iv. Longform tweets - with this feature, he is trying to bring the option of writing long paragraphs in one tweet. Recently Twitter also tested a notes feature with a small number of writers v. Payment options - This will most probably attract more creators so that they can set their own prices for content.

He has also expressed that he has plans to make Twitter an everything app with different kinds of features. The idea is quite similar to WeChat, a Chinese app.

More financial options:

The company has also recently partnered with a social trading company that's Israel based to help Twitter users with access to stock, crypto and other financial assets. This feature may be named 'Cashtags' in the app.

AI introduction:

For making Xcorp an "everything app", Elon Musk is also planning to add a generative AI program within Twitter. Recently two AI engineers joined Twitter last month from Alphabet's DeepMind.
