Heartbreak or breakup is the most emotionally breaking moment for anyone. It makes one mentally sick and depressed. However, money is everything for most of us, and it gives us a great level of satisfaction.
It may even mitigate the emotional damage to a great extent, if not completely. Though Heartbreak Insurance Fund is not a type of insurance, but recently a netizen took the entire media on the storm by announcing the award of INR 25000 upon break-up.
For context, this man Prateek Aaryan and his girlfriend decided to invest INR 500/month each on a joint account and decided that whomsoever gets cheated on will get the entire amount so deposited. Unfortunately, Prateek got cheated and therefore, he got to keep the entire INR 25000 to keep. That's like a Heartbreak Insurance Fund.
This may encourage insurance companies to make insurance policies as per the modern generation. The relationship is an emotionally indulging step that requires efforts from both ends, and a little reward for cheating would not hurt.
Well, there is no bar on the bloodline for opening a joint bank account with any Bank. Any two friends, without having any relation or bloodline, can also open up a joint bank account. That's what Prateek Aaryan and his ex have done and that's how Prateek got to keep the entire amount once he got cheated. So, he got a return of twice the amount he himself invested over the period of 2 years. 100% return in 2 years is the best investment that came at the cost of emotional damage.
The insurance company may learn something from this incident and may bring an insurance product similar in line. But in India, people shy away from buying car insurance, life insurance or mediclaim. Henceforth, the number of people buying such unique concepts would be even lower.
